Deep purple/black to the rim with plush aromas of crushed black fruits, blueberry and violets, lightly tinged with new-wood cedar. Absolutely massive on the attack, laced with blackberry preserves, black cherry -- at once dense, compact, chewy and supple.
This wine exhibits a very full and round entry, filling the entire palate with chewy tannins and balanced acidity. Primary flavors are black cherry and blueberry jam, with milk chocolate and vanilla bean in the background. Toasty French oak mingles with violets and slight mint on the sustained, firm finish.
Tasting Notes from Craig MacLean, Winemaker: The aromas are dominated initially by black currant and black cherry which give way to cherry and slight raspberry with time in the glass. Side notes of cedar, vanilla and rose petals. The entry is full and round supported by fine and medium grain tannins. The balance is impeccable and the finish is long and intense.
